Publications:

Deep Type by Alan Gilburg, Llumina Press:

This groundbreaking book presents a new methodology developed to deepen the traditional Jungian typing process. Do we really another book on Jungian Typology, some might ask? The Deep Type® process, however, is different on several accounts. The book provides self-awareness for leaders and those who coach and consult with leaders so they can better understand their own strengths and limitations – as well as those they supervise and counsel – including blind spots and courage issues. Deep Type is not a book for casual practitioners who want a quick and easy way of understanding a Type. Rather, the book an excellent resource for professionals who want a more powerful and personal way to coach, consult or otherwise develop leaders.

Creating Effective Leaders

Leadership has become an increasingly important issue in both public and private sectors. Effective leaders are emotionally intelligent and able to draw upon a variety of positive leadership styles. Developing adroit leadership behavior starts with self-awareness, a candid understanding of personal strengths and limitations, and addressing internal barriers to achieving desired outcomes.

Building a Leadership Legacy

The next ten years will reveal a dramatic shift in employment demographics. Baby Boom elders will begin to retire leaving a potential void of knowledge and experience in the organizations they leave behind. The successive generation, “Gen X,” has had had little, if any, exposure to leadership training and development initiatives, and the mentor/protégé model has been abandoned in response to the competitive, short term, 24/7 workplace pressures. In order to effectively address the lack of succession preparation and planning, organizations must take a hard look at the deeper cultural barriers that exist between Baby Boomers and Gen Xers. Leaders must become aware of the generational characteristics and diversity issues at play, and create meaningful, integrated leadership development programs for the best and brightest of the next generation to begin to bridge the leadership gap and chart a hopeful course for the potentially troubled future.
