Martha Johnson, Retired Founder:

Formerly Martha Spice, Martha Johnson was the original founder of the precursor organization, Growth Dynamics, Inc. that reincorporated under the name Gilburg Leadership Institute in 2006. Retired in 2003, Martha was instrumental in creating The Leadership Laboratory ®, a program designed to coach individual leaders to harness the internal resources necessary to maximize their positive impact and maintain healthy work/life balance.

She developed a powerful personal mastery process called Breakthrough, still used today in GLI programs to help individuals identify and address internal barriers to their own success. Martha’s other vocational experiences include, Peace Corps Volunteer, teacher, author, poet, artist, speaker, leader coach, and a National Park Service Manager. She received a B.A. from Oberlin College and an M. Ed. from Springfield College. She lives in her hometown of South Hadley, Massachusetts and can be reached via email at mjggdi@comcast.net
